Oh, come on!  You’ve nobody but yourself to blame.  Don’t come to me looking for sympathy.  I’ve tried to warn you SO many times.  This is a prison of your own making.

What time is it? Stray Souls

So if clocks exist, what exactly do they measure?
In the interest of fairness:

“Time has been a major subject of religion, philosophy, and science, but defining it in a non-controversial manner applicable to all fields of study has consistently eluded the greatest scholars.” (wikipedia)

I’ve read a lot of theories about time, but never one that claimed it didn’t exist.  Yet I heard just such a theory spoken aloud the other night (admittedly, by a severely inebriated gentleman who liked to hear himself talk), and now I’m seeing this.
Is this just undergraduates questioning the nature of reality, the meaningless scrawl of paint huffing vandals, or is something fundamentally wrong with our education system?
A “yard stick” is an arbitrary measure of distance, and a “clock” is an arbitrary measure of time, but it doesn’t follow that time and distance don’t exist.
